Drop In Center

LRC is open for Drop-In Wednesday-Saturday, 12-4 pm. You can hang and chat with other women who drop in or review our resource/referral information. Check the bulletin boards for upcoming events and other announcements, pick up brochures and flyers from an array of groups and organizations, peruse the housing and employment files. The LRC library is also open for browsing and lending..

Lending Library

The LRC's lending library contains nearly 1000 different titles, ranging from lesbian classic fiction to feminist literature and analysis.

LRC News

The LRC News is the largest lesbian publication in the Northwest. It is a  20-page, tabloid-sized newspaper with a readership of about 10,000--mostly in and around the Puget Sound area. The LRC News includes Feature Articles, a comprehensive Calendar of Events, Information about the LRC, Meetings & Resource List, "Dykes To Watch Out For" Comic Strip, Classifieds Section, and much more. LRC Website & Email

The LRC maintains a website that receives over 2,500 visits every month and an email list of over 1,000 women and organizations.  The website provides comprehensive information about community events, LBTG resources as well as business and professional listings.  The email list is used to keep women informed about events and meetings throughout the Puget Sound area.

Meetings & Groups

The LRC sponsors and hosts a variety of support/discussion groups. Unless otherwise indicated, the groups are drop-in (that is, you don't have to sign up ahead) and free. The groups meet at the LRC, unless otherwise noted.  Go to Group for more information. And check our Calendar of Events for meeting dates and times.

Lesbian Health

The LRC is working with Verbena to provide information and services essential to lesbian health. Free or reduced cost Mammograms and PAPS are offered on site at the LRC quarterly.

LRC Scholarship 

The LRC offers an annual Lesbian scholarship in collaboration with the Pride Foundation.

LRC Gallery

The LRC displays art and installations by Northwest artists who are self-identified women: bisexual, lesbian, intersexed, transgendered, transexual and/or queer. If you are interested in submitting your work, go to submission guidelines.

Advocacy

The LRC takes action when visibility or social and economic justice for lesbians are threatened.

LRC Cabaret & Forums

LRC Cabaret features singers, poets, dancers, musicians and performance artists.  LRC forums present cutting edge information on women's culture and issues.  Check the Calendar of Events for current listings.

Pandora's Box

Pandora's Box dances are held the last Saturday of every month starting at 10 pm at the Re-Bar, on Howell at Boren, and benefit the LRC. DJ Queen Lucky will keep you dancing all night.

Area 51 Softball Team

The LRC sponsors Area 51, last year's frist place team in the Emerald City Softrball Association Women's Division.  Play starts in April and goes throughout the Summer. Contact Kari at kari_escobedo@hotmail.com for team information.

LRC Groups

Twenty Somethings is a weekly group for queer women in their twenties.  They meet every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. for friendship, support, discussion and social activities.

Over 40's meet every Tuesday,  7:00-8:30 p.m. at Seattle Mental Health Institute, Conference Room, 1600 E. Olive Street on Capitol Hill.  Weekly meetings serve as a platform for a wide array of social and recreational activities. Contact Sandra Jo at (206) 328-4895.

Maybe Baby is a group for women considering becoming mothers.  It meets monthly on 3rd Thursdays, at 7:00 p.m. Their websit is  http://www.geocities.com/maybebabysite 

Dragon Women is a gathering of queer Asian and mixed Asian women to discuss issues and build community.   It meets monthly on 2nd Mondays at 7:00 p.m. Check the calendar for additional Dragon Women events.

Other Groups Meeting at the LRC

Seattle Bisexual Womens Network meets most Sundays at the LRC at 6:30 p.m.  Meeting formats vary from open rap to specific topics.

Poly Discussion is a monthly poly discussion for women who are interested in exploring responsible non-monogamy or are currently poly and want to discuss related issues. The group meets on 2nd Sundays at 4:00 p.m. and is facilitated by the Seattle Bisexual Womens Network.
